What is a spod?

"a lonely person...."
Yeah I didn't know it either until Nick De Cata told me one day in the rowing club bar. What rhymes with spod?.......squad, how clever I wonder who thought that up. Slowly more and more juniors were let on to the squad, and now it is what you see today, a fine body of young men and women rowing in style. RIGHT: Nicola (aka fox) and me in the very bar where it all started. In the middle, Steve Trapmore, Olympic Gold medal winner, and he used to row at our club.

What do we do???
Well we row a lot, train a lot, but most importantly have such a laugh all the time! We are serious rowers, but no-one can be serious all the time. We go to regattas and head races, and win things .
